The HFSAA Public API makes HFSAA-approved directory data available to approved third-party applications through revocable, usage-tracked API keys.

What the API includes

  • HFSAA-certified restaurants
  • HFSAA-certified meat markets
  • HFSAA-certified dining halls
  • HFSAA chapter information and an official per-location verification URL
  • An optional Google Place ID for developers who choose to enrich their own views through Google Places

Verification and attribution

When your product states or implies that a location is certified or halal verified by HFSAA, identify HFSAA and give users reasonable access to that location’s exact verification_url. The URL can be attached to the statement, HFSAA name, badge, Learn more link, or another clearly related details element. The data policy permits durable caching, complete snapshots, and online or offline redistribution, subject to its attribution, verification, modification, and 30-day freshness requirements.

What the API does not include

  • Certificate IDs or certificate dates
  • Google photos, photo URLs, Google Maps URLs, or Google-derived business details
  • Contact names, contact emails, or internal operational data
  • Write endpoints
